The Ukrainian government will allocate additional funds from the state budget's stabilization fund in order to prevent the spread of flu in the country, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said at a government meeting on Thursday.

She said that UAH 50 million (UAH 8.00 / USD 1) had been allocated to take measures on preventing the spread of the infection.

According to the Health Ministry, the situation is the most difficult in Ternopil region where 5,976 cases of the infection were registered over the last week.

Health Minister Vasyl Kniazevych said that the concrete nature of the virus would be established by the start of the next week.
