The Armed Forces of Ukraine view cooperation with NATO as an effective mechanism of getting closer to the present-day standards, Ihor Romanenko, deputy chief of the General Headquarters, said during his meeting with the CAPSTONE program graduates, the defense ministry's press service reported. He noted that high-level communications had become a good tradition in cooperation between the Ukrainian and US military. “It helps strengthen bilateral relations and improve mutual understanding between the two countries,” he said reminding that this is Ukraine's strategic priority. “Today we are trying to develop the Armed Forces on the basis of the best experience of NATO member-countries, but with regard for domestic specificities,” the deputy chief of the General Headquarters noted. The US delegation included representatives of the military command and allied headquarters of the United States, the National Defense University. |
