On 22 October 2009, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belgium and Luxembourg (non-resident), Mr. Yevhen Bersheda paid a working visit to Luxembourg, where he held a meeting with country’s Vice-Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Mr. Jean Asselborn. In the course of the meeting, a broad range of issues of current state and prospects for Ukrainian-Luxembourg cooperation were addressed. In particular, discussed was the continuation of a bilateral political dialogue at the highest level, intensification of trade and economic cooperation, Luxembourg’s support of Ukraine’s Euro-integration and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, two countries` interaction in the international organizations. During the meeting, the chief of the Luxembourg diplomacy confirmed his country’s interest in developing its relations with Ukraine and expressed support of Ukraine’s aspirations to join the EU and NATO in the future. Vice-Prime Minister Asselborn wished Ukraine further successes in implementing democratic and socio-economic reforms. On the same day, the Ukrainian Ambassador met with the Political Director of the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Georges Friden. |
